Custom Gridfinity Planner

Free in the browser, no account

From tape measure to finished print file.

Measure your drawer and the planner does the rest: a Gridfinity baseplate and boxes that fit level by level. Boxes too big for your bed are split to fit, and you arrange and rotate them right in 3D. Exported for any common slicer.

Everything is calculated only in your browser.

Drawers have odd sizes. So do print beds.

Ready-made inserts almost fit. And almost means a gap that makes everything rattle.

The Gridfinity grid rarely divides evenly. Whether to print the rest as a margin or stretch the grid is otherwise a job for the calculator.

Stacking two levels means working out feet, stacking lips and plate floors by hand, and finding the mistake after printing.

How it works

Five steps to a print plate

You go step by step. On the right you always see the real model in 3D, with dimensions right on the part.

  1. Measure the space

Width, depth and height, measured wall to wall. Add anything that sticks in, such as drawer runners or fittings. The planner shows at once how many 42 mm fields fit and how much height is left.

Space step with size fields, an obstacle and a top view
  2. Choose a baseplate

Four styles, from frame only to weighted. The planner suggests grids that waste as little space as possible and splits the plate for your print bed into parts of similar size, with dovetail connectors. You can move the cuts yourself.

  3. Set the levels

How many boxes should stand on top of each other? Up to eight levels, in Gridfinity units or to the millimetre. The top level fills the rest, with plate floor, feet and stacking lips accounted for, and a side view shows whether everything fits. All boxes on a level are equally tall, so the next one rests securely on top.

Levels step with count, height per level and side view
  4. Design the boxes

You fill the space level by level. A new box goes to a free spot, boxes already placed stay put. Choose the size in fields, the height comes from the level, for tall tools across several. Add uneven compartments, labels, a finger scoop, a bit insert and a tool outline.

  5. Check and export

The planner checks every level and tells you what does not fit and why. Move boxes in the plan or directly in the 3D view. Then one 3MF file with every part for your slicer, or each part as STL.

What makes it different

Three things the planner does for you

Larger than the print bed

If a box does not fit on the print bed, the planner splits it along a grid line you can move. The parts join with tongue and groove and are glued, with a thicker wall at the seam and sloped edges inside that nothing catches on.

Tolerances from your test print

Every printer prints a little differently. A small test piece shows how much clearance your parts need and which magnet hole fits. Tap the hole that fits once and the planner uses it.

Files that remember

Every exported file carries its settings. Drop it back into the planner and continue exactly where you left off. This also works with files from the earlier box generator.
